Beige “Bukovyna” Herdan with a Geometric Pattern
A warm beige base is contrasted with dark brown and black details, allowing the intricate pattern to remain clearly defined throughout the design. Repeating diamond-shaped motifs and stepped lines create a rhythmic composition, while the natural colour palette gives the piece a refined and understated character.
The herdan is woven entirely by hand from premium Czech Preciosa seed beads using a pattern designed by Yuliia Hrantseva. Long woven sections lead into a wider central element with a larger ornamental composition, while multi-strand beaded fringe completes the lower edge.

Diamond-Shaped Motifs and Rhythmic Composition
The ornament is built around repeating geometric elements with clearly defined stepped outlines. Along the narrower woven sections, the motifs follow one another in a continuous sequence, gradually drawing attention toward the wider central part of the herdan.
At the centre, the pattern becomes larger and more elaborate, bringing several geometric elements together into an elongated composition. The beaded fringe continues the beige, brown and black palette and adds subtle movement to the lower part of the necklace.
A Ukrainian Herdan for Traditional and Contemporary Outfits
The warm beige and brown shades pair naturally with white or cream embroidered blouses, linen shirts and clothing in earthy neutral tones. Against a light background, the dark outlines of the ornament become especially noticeable, making the herdan a distinctive focal point of the outfit.
“Bukovyna” can also be styled with contemporary clothing. Wear it with a monochrome dress, simple shirt, blazer or minimalist top. Its elongated silhouette creates a strong vertical accent and allows the herdan to stand out without the need for many additional accessories.
If you are looking to buy a handmade Ukrainian beaded herdan in a warm, understated palette, “Bukovyna” is a distinctive choice for both Ukrainian-inspired styling and a contemporary wardrobe.
